You see, our oldest came home from college a couple of weeks ago. He was on his first ever college spring break. COVID-19 was already in the news and already changing the ways in which we were living. At the time, however, just a couple of weeks ago, we were just beginning to try and comprehend how it could all play out. As our first to head off to college, it has and had been very difficult getting used to him being away. I missed him. His Mom missed him. His little brothers missed him. And he missed us. For the past several days, following President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency, we all have stayed mostly at home. Yes, we have been out a time or two to get groceries and get some fresh air. The best thing that has been happening? For the last several nights we have all enjoyed supper together, as a family. We have been rotating cooking and cleanup responsibilities and enjoying each other’s company. We laugh. We make fun of each other. We tease. We support. We love. I hope and trust that you are as well. We will get through this and come out much stronger on the other side of this. Hang in there!
